Our residential work spans new construction and alterations to existing buildings—extensions, basements, lofts, and garden structures across London and beyond. Each project is shaped by its occupants' routines and the particular conditions of its site.

We frequently work with heritage properties, where existing fabric presents both constraint and opportunity. Contemporary interventions are developed in productive dialogue with what exists, acknowledging the distinct logic of each temporal layer.

Projects are conceived as coherent wholes. Architecture, landscape, joinery, and interiors are not separate disciplines but interdependent systems that inform daily life.

We prepare planning applications and navigate the regulatory frameworks that govern residential work— listed building consent, permitted development, and full planning submissions. Pre-application discussions with planning officers establish the terms of what is architecturally possible. Building Regulations approval is pursued in parallel, coordinating structural, thermal, acoustic, and fire safety requirements.

Where appropriate, we pursue low-energy standards including Passivhaus principles—continuous insulation, airtight construction, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. These strategies prioritise thermal comfort and reduced operational energy, though their application is calibrated to each project's specific circumstances rather than adopted universally.

We provide construction management services, coordinating contractors and specialist subcontractors through the building process. Site visits, material approvals, and contractor queries are managed to ensure design intent translates to built reality. This includes navigating party wall matters, coordinating building control inspections, and administering construction contracts.

Recent work has been recognised in ArchDaily's Building of the Year and featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs.
