James Mak

BA (Hons) LSE, AA Dipl, ARB, RIBA

James is a registered Architect. He established the practice following extensive experience working for London-based, Stirling Prize winner dRMM. He has experience in a variety of education, residential and master planning projects in the office, with a focus on engineered timber construction.

James grew up in Hong Kong and graduated from the London School of Economics in Geography, before obtaining the AA Diploma from the Architectural Association in London. His years in academia allowed him to investigate the social and cultural implications of vernacular architecture in post-conflict countries. In 2009, he founded a charity that designs, builds and runs village schools in Takeo, Cambodia and has been an active volunteer ever since.

Jongwon Na

AA Dipl, ARB, RIBA

Jongwon is a registered Architect. He has worked in the award-winning practice, 6a architects since 2014. His experience at 6a has seen him work particularly within the cultural sector, spanning from contemporary art galleries, fashion retail, and exhibitions. This has also extended to artist studios, single and multiple residential projects, many of which were retro-fits and conversions that celebrate their inherent material richness alongside their contemporary narratives.

He studied architecture at the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in London. He was the overall winner of the 2014 Global Architecture Graduate Awards (GAGA) at the Architecture Review. His works were featured in various publications including the Architectural Review and A+U Magazine. He currently works with artists, publishers, and designers for various collective projects. Since 2020, he has been directing the Seoul AA Visiting School.
